The Grenadines is a beautiful chain of islands where time stands still and the old Caribbean spirit reigns. It is a sailors paradise, so be prepared for longer sails, but the journey is worth it!
The currency: these islands use the EC dollar ($1 US is 2.6 EC-please check up to date rates). Many places will accept U.S dollars, but little markets or local shops may not. So if you can get your hands on some EC dollars it’s worth it.
Gratuity: Your crew are based in the BVI and are running a special sailing trip in the Grenadines for a short period. They would greatly appreciate their gratuity in U.S dollars (traveller’s cheque, personal cheque or cash.) 15- 18% of the cost of the charter is customary.
Provisioning: Provisioning is far more difficult in these islands, so please bare with the crew if we cannot get certain items.
Wireless Internet: Although there are some wireless hotspots in the Grenadines, Ad Astra's wireless network will not be available on the yacht.
